FREE MOVEMENT: the unrestricted movement of goods, services, people and capital in a common market.
COMMON MARKET: a market based on common policies and the free movement of goods, services, people and capital.
MONETARY UNION: the sharing of the same currency between two or more states.
COHESION: the act of uniting or staying together.
TREATY: a formal agreement between two or more states related to international relations. HETEROGENEITY: a thing that consists of dissimilar elements or parts.
HOMOGENEOUS: composed of similar or identical parts or elements.
OUTSOURCING: a part of a company’s work is sent to another company, sometimes in a different country, because it is a cheaper or more efficient option.
FRAGMENTATION: when production processes occur in different phases, in different places. DEVELOPMENT: the act or progress of growing or making progress.
BUDGET: a sum of money to be used for a specific purpose by a government.
CITIZENSHIP: the condition or status of a citizen, with its rights and duties.
DUTY: a task or action that a person is bound to perform for moral or legal reasons.
FUNDS: the financial resources use by governments or political institutions for a specific purpose. INVESTMENT: the act of using something to achieve a goal.
SUBSIDY: a type of financing offered by a government.
SCEPTICAL: not convinced that something is true.
SURPLUS: a quantity or amount in excess of what is required.
SEAFARING: travelling by sea.
OUTSKIRTS: outlying or bordering areas, districts, etc, as of a city.
PROFITABLE: affording gain, benefit, or profit.
HIERARCHY: a system of persons or things arranged in a graded order.
GDP: gross domestic product.
CAP: Common Agricultural Policy.
CFP: Common Fisheries Policy.

Glossary, ENGLISH
ALL THE COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW: it means something is very colorful.
CHASING RAINBOWS: refers to someone who is always looking for something more exciting and rewanding but it is unlikely to find it.
PLAY WITH FIRE: do something which could be dangerous.
ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE: it means you make a bad situation even worse.
LOST FOR WORDS: you use this expression when you don't know what to say.
TO HAVE A FLASH OF INSPIRATION: it means that you get a sudden idea that helps you create or achieve what you were hoping to do.
A BIG FISH IN A SMALL POND: it means that someone is very important or have lot of influence but only in a small area or group.
PACKED LIKE SARDINES: we use this expression to describe people ina very crowded space.
LIKE A DUCK TO WATER: it means that you discover when you start doing a new activity that you are very good at it.
BLOW YOUR OWN TRUMPET: you are boasting about your achievements and abilities.
HAVE A BEE IN YOUR BONNET: you are obsessed with something and can't stop thinking about it.
IT'S IN SOMEONES'S GENES: when that person has te same personality traits as their parents, or does a similar job.
YOU SCRATCH MY BACK AND I'LL SCRATCH YOURS: if you do something for me, I'll do something for you.

STATE: it is made un up of institutions that organise the live of the people who live in the same territory. The laws ans powers are the same for everyone..
SOVEREIGNTY: supreme and unrestricted power.
CONSTITUTION: it is the collection of a country's fundamental laws.
DEMOCRACY: government by the people or their elected representatives.
MONARCHY: a form of government in which the supreme authority is the king or the queen of a state.
DICTATORSHIP: a country ruled by a dictator or dictators.
GLOGALISATION: capital can move from one country to another without border restrictions.
REGION: is a territory that usually has a strong economy and a well-defined social and cultural identity.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY: it exists between people as a result of education and a way of living or thinking.
UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE: it means that all citizens at voting age can participate in the elections.
LEGISLATIVE POWER: it has to make and vote on laws; and control the government. It lies with the parliament.
EXECUTIVE POWER: it has to execute the laws and set state policy. It lies with the government.
JUDICIAL POWER: it has to apply the law and punish citizens who break it.
SUPRANATIONAL: beyond the authority or jurisdiction of one national government.
MASS CULTURE: process by which different cultures become more alike, ad local characteristics are gradually abandoned.
UN: United Nations. International organisation formed by almost every state in the world.
NGO: Non-governmental organisation. Entitie with humanitarian and social aims.
CIVIL SERVANT: qualified worker that have passed an exam.
JUSTICE: the quality or fact of being just.
LIBERTY: the power of choosing, thinking, and acting for oneself.
SUBSIDIARITY: the institutions closest to the citizens can make decisions.
CULTURE: it is the collection of common customs, knowledge and ways of living that a group of people recognise as their own.
MULTICULTURALISM: the policy of maintaining a diversity of cultures within a community.
INTERCULTURALISM: it promotes the coexistence of different groups of human beings on tha basis that cultural relations enrich everybody.
REFERENDUM: a vote on such a measure.
ELECTIONS: process by which the citizes choose their representatives in the parliament.
